HANDLE FAILURE IS TOO IMPORTANT THAN SUCCESS

It’s often said, from the time we are children, that we need to be successful in life. Whether it’s scoring high marks in school, winning competitions, or achieving our dreams, the focus is always on success. But one important lesson is usually missing: how to deal with failure.

We grow up thinking that success is the only goal, and failure is something to avoid at all costs. But life doesn’t always work that way. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we fail. And when that happens, it can feel like the end of the world. No one really teaches us how to cope with failure, so when it happens, we often don’t know what to do.

Think about it – how many times has someone told you, “It’s okay to fail”? Not many, right? But the truth is, failure is a part of life. In fact, it’s a natural part of growth. We make mistakes, we stumble, we fall. But these experiences are valuable. They teach us lessons, help us build resilience, and shape us into stronger individuals.

Yet, because we are not taught how to handle failure, many of us struggle when things don’t go as planned. We start to doubt ourselves, feel ashamed, or even worthless. In extreme cases, some people might feel so overwhelmed by their failure that they don’t want to live anymore.

That’s why it’s so important to change the way we think about failure. We need to remind ourselves and others that it’s okay to fall short sometimes. It’s okay not to get everything right. What matters most is how we get back up, learn from our mistakes, and keep moving forward. The key is to not let failure define you. Instead, let it refine you. When things don’t go as planned, ask yourself: What can I learn from this? How can I improve? These are the kinds of questions that turn failure into fuel for success.

It’s also important to remember that you’re not alone in this. Everyone experiences setbacks, no matter how perfect their life may seem from the outside. We all stumble. What sets people apart is how they get back up. It’s not about avoiding failure altogether; it’s about using it as a tool to become stronger, wiser, and more resilient.

Life isn’t about being perfect all the time. It’s about trying, learning, and growing. If we can teach ourselves to embrace failure as a stepping stone rather than a dead-end, we’ll be much better equipped to handle the ups and downs of life—because it is all part of life!
