Reinventing Myself

I stand today, a page anew,A canvas fresh with colors true. The past may whisper, call me back,But I walk forward, not off track. The storms once broke, but did not bend,The fire within refused to end. Each scar, a story, lesson learned,Each fall, a bridge, not time unearned. I shed the weight of what was known,Embrace…

I stand today, a page anew,
A canvas fresh with colors true.
The past may whisper, call me back,
But I walk forward, not off track.

The storms once broke, but did not bend,
The fire within refused to end.
Each scar, a story, lesson learned,
Each fall, a bridge, not time unearned.

I shed the weight of what was known,
Embrace the seeds that I have sown.
No chains of doubt, no fear remains,
I rise, reborn, beyond the stains.

Not who I was, nor stuck in time,
I shape myself—a climb, a climb.
With every step, a dream takes flight,
A dawn awaits, a world alight.

I love this. I am 4 years and 2 months sober from addiction and I totally reinvented myself for the better. Went back to school and graduated, buying a home, launching a business, and more. 4 years ago I was homeless, unemployable, and my credit was shot! Thanks for your post.
