Your happiness matters, don’t push it aside,
Let joy be the compass, let hope be your guide.
The world may be busy, the days may feel long,

Actually, I perceive from the Bible that “happiness” and “joy” are not the same.
Happiness is contingent on circumstances and pleasant events or feelings.
Joy encompasses the center of the heart, how we understand our position in the universe, and rises above circumstances that may be anything besides “happy.”
“Thus, Jesus, the night before He was to be betrayed and crucified (a destiny He knew would occur), told his followers, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:11)

The entire context begins in chapter 13 and continues to 18 when He is arrested.
