The Silent Trade

They never wrote their names in gold,Nor stood beneath the lights so bold,Yet every step that we now take,Was built on choices others make. A mother’s dream put on the shelf,To raise her child, not chase herself.A father’s sweat, a sister’s care,The meals they missed, the love they bear. The friend who stayed through darkest…

They never wrote their names in gold,
Nor stood beneath the lights so bold,
Yet every step that we now take,
Was built on choices others make.

A mother’s dream put on the shelf,
To raise her child, not chase herself.
A father’s sweat, a sister’s care,
The meals they missed, the love they bear.

The friend who stayed through darkest days,
Who asked for nothing, gave always.
The teacher who believed in you,
When no one saw what you could do.

A stranger’s smile, a soldier’s fight,
The ones who guard our sleep at night.
They give their all, and walk away,
So we might live a better day.

Not all in life wears crown or fame,
But sacrifice—its silent flame—
Is what makes dreams take root and grow,
Though rarely praised, it’s all we know.

So if you ever feel alone,
Remember this: you’re not your own.
Your story’s made with love and strife—
A gift of those who gave their life.
